Now fully connected to the main line at East Grinstead, we take a visual journey on the epic operation to get the Bluebell Line from Sheffield Park through to the main line.

In March 2013 the Bluebell Railway finally connected their branch line of nine miles to the national network at East Grinstead a further two miles north of Kingscote Station.
We take a visual journey along the epic operation to get the Bluebell Line from Sheffield Park through to the main line.
All the action showing the clearance of waste from Imberhorne cutting, the building of the new station and the first trains through the new connection.
We see the schemes, ‘Waste by Road’ and ‘Waste by Rail’ which cleared the cutting south of East Grinstead of a 100,000 tons of old house-hold rubbish.
Final track laying in the cutting to connect the two lines of railway and the first test trains before the official re-opening on 23rd March 2013.
The first main line train from London, Victoria during the two-week opening festival is seen arriving and the naming of the Class 66 GBRf locomotive (66739).
